RESUMEN: Estudio descriptivo sobre las alteraciones radiológicas halladas en radiografías de tórax y TAC torácicos de 9 pacientes ingresados por COVID-19 en Corea. Tres pacientes (33,3%) presentaron alteraciones parenquimatosas en la radiografía de tórax (infiltrado nodular único en un paciente e infiltrado parcheado bilateral en los otros dos). En ocho de los nueve pacientes se observó afectación bilateral en el TAC de tórax y en el otro una única lesión nodular con el “signo del halo”. La mayoría de las lesiones fueron periféricas y posteriores (78% y 67%) respectivamente. En total se identificaron 77 lesiones parenquimatosas en los TAC de tórax de los 9 pacientes incluidos: lesiones parcheadas (39%), confluentes (13%) y nodulares (48%). La mitad de las lesiones parcheadas fueron mixtas (vidrio deslustrado+ áreas de consolidación), frente a un patrón puro en vidrio deslustrado (35%), patrón “empedrado” (10%) y consolidación (5%). El 78% de dichas lesiones presentaban márgenes mal definidos y un 28% broncograma aéreo. En las lesiones nodulares predominó el patrón en vidrio deslustrado (57%) frente al componente mixto (32%) y sólido (11%). Las lesiones parcheadas se distribuyeron principalmente a lo largo de la pleura (80% ) y en los lóbulos inferiores (60%) a diferencia de las nodulares que siguieron distribución broncovascular (59%). Los hallazgos de este estudio coreano son similares a los reportado en pacientes chinos. Sin embargo, los autores destacan que en la población china las alteraciones radiológicas fueron más frecuentes: el 45-67% de los pacientes chinos presentaron lesiones en vidrio deslustrado frente a un 45% de los pacientes coreanos . Además, en los pacientes chinos las consolidaciones parenquimatosas predominaron en el 30-60% de los casos. Una de las grandes limitaciones del presente estudio es el escaso numero de pacientes incluidos (n=9) que representan solo un tercio del total de los casos coreanos registrados con COVID-19 (n=29). Los autores concluyen que la neumonía asociada a COVID-19 se manifiesta como opacidades parcheadas en vidrio deslustrado o patrón mixto (áreas de consolidación) bilaterales de localización periférica y posterior.
